Amethyst means "without alcohol" or "not drunken" in Greek and as such is an excellent sobriety stone, guarding against overindulgences of all sorts...it promotes healthy sleep and it is the stone associated with Pisces. It brings clarity to the conscious and unconscious mind. It is said to treat swellings, insect bites and acne. Do not expose to the sun. It is used on the Crown Chakra (skeletal system, skin and muscular system/the center of spirituality and enlightenment). Its planet is therefore Neptune, the one Pisces is ruled by. It increases confidence and concentration. Wearing a necklace made of it is suppose to fascinate others with personality and charisma. Magical properties are warding off danger, violent death and burglars and thieves.
